Churchill Academy joins NELT!

The North East Learning Trust is delighted to welcome Churchill Academy as the 15th school to join the Trust.

Formerly Churchill Community College, Churchill Academy, as the school will now be known, has a long history of educating children in the Wallsend area of North Tyneside. They join us with 800 pupils and the exciting prospect of a brand new school building after recently receiving government rebuild funding.

Speaking of the news, Chief Executive Officer of NELT, Dame Lesley Powell DBE, said:

"Churchill Academy joins the Trust with a clear ambition for the future and we are delighted to welcome their students, families, staff and governors to the NELT family.

"They bring with them strong community values and share our Trust vision to provide excellence for every child, every day.

"After a hugely successful set of summer exam results, where we saw significant improvements across both GCSEs and A-levels, Churchill Academy is at the start of an exciting new chapter where I'm confident we will see many more improvements in the very near future."
